Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) Test for Australian ShepherdsFor: Australian ShepherdsOptiGen now offers the PRA test for Progressive Retinal Atrophy in Australian Shepherds.
If you submit a new blood sample to OptiGen, you may order both the CEA and prcd-PRA tests on this same sample. If you tested your Australian Shepherd for CEA previously, in almost all cases we have stored DNA that can be used for the PRA test. OptiGen is allowing use of a stored sample only for the new PRA test. (This is separate from "Long-Term Storage.") You may order the PRA test online on a stored sample. Link to "Order Test" and complete the order form as usual. Be sure to indicate that this dog's sample already is at OptiGen by selecting "Blood sample is already at OptiGen under a long-term storage agreement." Mark this choice even if you did not specifically pay for Long-Term Storage. Blood Sample Information
To help us identify your samples submitted earlier, please: 1. If there is new ownership since CEA testing, please tell us the name of the original owner and fax or mail a copy of the current ownership certificate so that we can update the record. 2. If the CEA test was done on an unregistered puppy, enter the registration number followed by the OptiGen number (for example: SN24681234, Optigen 05-11111). The regular OptiGen price for the PRA test is US$195.00. Our usual discounts for online ordering and 20/20 Clinics will apply.
Until 12/31/06 those wishing to request a PRA test on a previously CEA tested Australian Shepherds can enter their request using the code AUSHPRA@OG for a 25% discount. Note: The discount will be extended through February 28, 2006 after the 1st of the year (programming does not allow discounts to extend from one year to another!)
